David Gee – Responsible Individual and Chairman

David is the Responsible Individual and Chairman of Little Acorns and ensures we maintain our standards of services within the regulatory framework.

David has a career spanning 46 years as director/founder of several companies including publicly quoted plc’s. David is also a Justice of the Peace, a magistrate with particular duties in Family Proceedings, is Chair of the Hillingdon Family Proceedings court and on the London Executive Family Panel.


Cheryl Jillions – Registered Manager and Operations Director

Cheryl, as Registered Manager of Little Acorns, is focused on the day to day running of the Fostering operations, including managing the recruitment, training and support of carers and staff, ensuring the company is providing best in class services and providing positive outcomes for Looked After Children.

Cheryl has 28 years’ experience in the child care arena and a qualified Social Worker for 18 years, including extensive experience as Area Manager and Registered Manager for a previous Independent Fostering Agency. Cheryl holds the DipSW/H.E after studying at the University of the West of England and also holds a diploma in ILM Level 5 Management and Leadership.


Michael Jillions – Business Services Director

Michael has been employed in a variety of financial institutions for 28 years, the last 20 of which have been in senior management positions.

Michael’s role in Little Acorns lies in corporate affairs ensuring the accounting and finance, IT and back-office management is properly controlled.


Nicol Robinson – Fostering Team Leader

Nicol is responsible for Little Acorns governance and quality control and supervises the Fostering Team in their everyday endeavours to support and supervise our Foster Carers. She also holds a small caseload herself, supervising Foster Carers.

Nicol obtained the DIPSW/ HE in Social Work 20 years ago from Nottingham Trent University and has a BA honours degree in Social Work. She has previously worked in Childrens’s Services, including setting up and managing a remand fostering project, working with young people involved in the Criminal Justice system and as a practice manager for a London Youth offending service. More recently Nicol has worked independently as a Practice Educator for MA and BA Social work students from the universities of Kingston, Suffolk and East Anglia and for an independent fostering agency.

Nicol also holds the Post Qualifying Award in Child Care, Post-graduate certificate in professional childcare studies and in Education and Training in human services as well as the Practice Teaching award from Kingston University and the introductory diploma in management (ILM).


Ana Freitas – Supervising Social Worker

Ana brings a unique experience and vision of children in care and safeguarding; a qualified social worker with post-graduation studies in child protection in Portugal. Ana used to work with adults in an alternative form of education where she would support them to achieve higher qualifications through a learning reflective portfolio, using their life experiences.

Registered as a Social Worker in the UK since 2012 and has lived permanently in England since 2013. Ana has direct experience of being a foster carer and strongly believes that every child should be able to thrive and achieve in life.


Vicky Bigmore – Supervising Social Worker

 

Vicky has extensive experience of working with children, young people and families in both the statutory and voluntary sector. Supporting them through direct work and group work.
Obtained a BA(Hons) Social Work in 2012 and worked in the Local Authority Children Services, within Child Protection, Child in Need, Looked After Children and Children with Disabilities team.


Emily Shore – Senior Placements Officer

Emily takes care of our placement matching ensuring any referrals we receive are given proper consideration and undergo the correct matching process. Emily also liaises with the Local Authorities and carers to facilitate all aspects of placing a child or young person with one of the Little Acorns carers. Emily is also a Business Support Co-ordinator, assisting the Supervising Social Workers with their paperwork and making sure all of this is on the relevant systems and they are kept up to date.


Jo Bilbow – Business Support Co-ordinator

Jo joined the team in December 16 to support Emily & the Supervising Social Workers with all aspects of administration duties, along with various general office tasks.
